The International Wildlife Museum is located out west of downtown Tucson and is an interesting place. This is a museum featuring hundreds of specimens of insects, mammals and birds from around the world. They have Dioramas, Videos, and hands on Exhibits available. The Tucson Wildlife Museum is associated with the Safari Club International and is dedicated to wildlife conservation and education.
Hours at International Wildlife Museum are 9AM to 5PM or 6PM daily. There is a snack shop and a gift shop at the museum for your convenience. Plenty of parking is available at the site. There is a Wildlife theater which shows rotating programs throughout the day which usually last from 30 to 60 minutes.
They change their featured exhibits occasionally so it makes it interesting to return for future visits. They have a great Bighorn Sheep exhibit that everyone enjoys. You can choose a self guided tour or a guided tour with one of the docent's which is the best way to go.
All in all this in an interesting local Tucson Attraction and well worth the visit. Plan a few hours for this one and have fun.
Other popular Tucson Attractions include Kitt Peak about 50 miles Southwest of Tucson, Old Tucson Studios West of Tucson and the Pima Air & Space Museum on the South Side of Tucson.
Driving Directions: From Downtown; Go West on Speedway about as far as you can go. You will pass under the freeway and head west out towards Gates Pass. The road will eventually turn into Gates Pass Rd. Watch for the Museum on your Right, it's a big Grey building, looks like a fortress. MAP
