The Kingfisher Restaurant located in downtown Tucson is a great place for a casual, comfortable lunch or a more elegant dinner in a very comfortable setting. This place reminds me of a fancy bar restaurant roadhouse from our past in Alaska. Opened back in the early 1990's this place hasn't changed much with lots of Booths in the dining room and waiters scurrying around serving up drinks and lots of great food.
Casual Elegance in a surprising location on a busy downtown street. Pat feels instantly at home when we visit this long time Tucson Restaurant. This is a style of place he enjoys. The service is excellent, the drinks are good and they remember your name.
The food's good too and the Kingfisher has won many awards over the years. They call themselves an American Grill and the food is hearty and filling. They keep many of the old favorites on the menu like great burgers, baby back ribs and a fish & chips for lunch.
The dinners are wonderful and the menu changes often with some really creative specials to be seen. Their strong points are their seafood dishes and their deserts which are both fabulous! All this in an Upscale Bar Restaurant setting with white tablecloths, great service and did I mention, Great Drinks!
We don't get down there as much as we would like but always enjoy the Kingfisher when we go. A little note to the ladies, it always seems to be a little on the cool side in there, so take a wrap.
Driving Directions: From Grant & Campbell; Go East on Grant a couple hundred yards and Kingfisher will be on your right. Map
