Moving to Arizona is extremely popular now and Arizona is currently the fastest growing state in the nation.
Arizona is home of one of the seven natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. So guess what, the official state nickname is The Grand Canyon State. Arizona joined the Union in 1912 becoming the 48th state. The Current population is in over 5 1/2 million residents which ranks it 23rd among all the states. Arizona is a large state, ranking number six, with an area of 113,600 square miles. Now that you are moving to this warm, beautiful sunny state, you can impress your friends and family with some of these interesting Arizona facts: The Arizona State capital is Phoenix. Petrified wood is the official Arizona State Fossil. Arizona observes Mountain Standard Time on a year round basis, except for the Navajo Nation, the northeast corner of the state which does observe Daylight Savings Time. Our Arizona State Flower is the Saguaro Cactus Flower. Be Warned, there is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down one of these giant beauties. The sun shines over 85% of the time here. Arizona has more sunny days than Florida or even Hawaii. Tombstone is the home of world's largest flowering rose bush, which covers an area of over 8,000 square feet. The Arizona State Bird is the Cactus Wren. Phoenix is the largest city in Arizona (6th largest city in the US), followed by our own Beautiful Tucson, then Mesa, Glendale and Scottsdale. Money magazine in it's "Best Places To Live 2006" named Scottsdale #7 in the US, we think Tucson is better:-). The Arizona trout is found only in Arizona, now is that weird or what. The original London Bridge was purchased by Robert McCulloch and was shipped stone by stone to Lake Havasu City where it was rebuilt for a cost of about $3 million dollars. The bridge opened in 1971 and is another great Arizona Tourist attraction. The famous Wyatt Earp gunfight at the O.K. Corral did not actually occur at the O.K. Corral. It actually occurred nearby on a vacant lot on Fremont Street and lasted all of thirty seconds. You can see a re-enactment of this famous gunfight down in historic Tombstone every afternoon. Believe it or not, at one time, Camels were used in Arizona to transport goods and supplies across the desert. Arizona Sports fans enjoy several professional teams: Arizona Cardinals football, Arizona Diamondbacks baseball, Phoenix Suns basketball, and the Phoenix Coyotes hockey team. Remember what they say about Arizona. It's hot, but it's a "dry" heat. Welcome to Arizona, Please enjoy your new home in Tucson! | |
