Moving to Tucson is becoming very popular and there are now just over 1 Million people in the Greater Metropolitan Tucson Area.
There are some small towns on the outskirts of Tucson like Oro Valley and Marana which are located on the Northwest side of Tucson. Oro Valley is considered by many to be the "Scottsdale" of Tucson and is a very popular little community of about 40,000 people. Marana is also growing rapidly and there are lots of reasonably priced homes in Marana. There are 5 Mountain Ranges is the Tucson Area, The Catalina's, The Tortolita's, The Tucson Mountains, The Rincon's and the Santa Rita's. The World Famous University of Arizona has it's main campus in Tucson. Tucson hosts the Worlds Largest Gem Show the Tucson Gem Show every February and people come from all over the world to attend. The Tucson Marathon is held here annually and many runners use it as a warm up for some of the larger marathons like the Boston or New York Marathons. The El Tour De Tucson Bike race is another large annual event with thousands of entrants. Tucson is only 2 hours south of Phoenix and only 1 hour north of Mexico. Tucson is only 6 hours from San Diego, 7 hours from Las Vegas and only about 5 hours from the Grand Canyon. Tucson Dining & Tucson Entertainment rival any other large community in the country.
