Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill is a quirky little Tucson Restaurant and a great place for a very casual sit down lunch. Rubio's serves "Baja Fresh" style Mexican Food and it's pretty darn good.
There a half a dozen or so Rubio's in Tucson but the one we go to is right across the street from our office and we eat lunch there several times a week. Brenda likes the Fish Tacos and Pat always gets the Shrimp Tacos.
Rubio's is designed after a college kid (Ralph Rubio) fell in love with the food he found down on the Baja Peninsula way back in the old days. Fresh Fish Tacos, Casual beach front decor, surfboards & thatched beach huts (Talapas).
Rubios in Tucson is not fancy, this is very casual, you place your order at the counter and they serve on plastic plates & silverware. Grab an empty table and off you go. The food is surprisingly good here, so don't hesitate to give it a try.
Driving Directions: Go North on Oracle road up into Oro Valley, Turn Left on Pusch View Lane and take an immediate Right into Rubio's. Map
Other Great Oro Valley Restaurants include Harvest Restaurant to the west at La Canada & Lambert and Dragon Village a really good Chinse restaurant right next door to Amarsi.
