TEP - Tucson Electric Power provides most of the Electrical Service in Tucson Area with the exception of portions of Northwest Tucson & other outlaying areas of Tucson. If you live in the Northwest or on the outskirts of Tucson you may be served by Trico Electric.

You can have your power turned on in Tucson usually with just a phone call to TEP. If the power is currently on, just tell them the day you want it switched over to your name and they can take care of it from there. The seller will also be calling in to tell them to turn it off in their name so TEP just reads the meter and switches the account over to you.

You Usually Do Not Need to be present for the electrical turn on unless they require it.

However, Be Sure that your power is on prior to Southwest Gas coming to turn on your gas. If the power is off, SWG cannot check your gas appliances and will not turn on your gas.

You should call TEP at least a week before your scheduled closing date to make sure they have time to switch over your account.
