Driving Directions: From Oracle and Ina, go west one block on Ina and turn right on Paseo Del Norte. Tohono Chul Park will be on your right. MAP
Tohono Chul Park is a quiet little oasis of peace and tranquility right in between Tucson and Oro Valley, just minutes from each. Tohono Chul is dedicated to showcasing the culture and nature of the Sonoran Desert. The Tohono Chul Park is open from 8:00 Am to 5:00 PM daily. This small 49 acre park is exquisite and we love going there often. Tohono Chul Park has even been recognized by the National Geographic Traveler and listed as one of the top 25 secrete gardens in the whole country. There are trails & gardens that wind throughout the park and feature desert plantings of all kinds. Be sure to check out the "Butterfly Garden". That's our favorite. The park contains a small Exhibit Hall where they feature changing Art Exhibits. There are a couple of quaint little Museum Gift Shops where you can find unusual hand made southwestern native crafts, books, prints and other items. There is also a greenhouse where we go for their annual "Fall Plant Sale". We recently bought a special plant which attracts butterflies for our yard. The Tohono Chul Park Tea Room is another favorite of ours. It is a small intimate restaurant situated in an old Spanish Hacienda style home with the tables scattered both inside and outside in a beautiful private courtyard surrounded by plants and butterflies. This is not your normal restaurant, this place is small, cozy, intimate, romantic and beautiful.
