The Arizona Department of Education rates all the schools in Tucson and in fact, all of Arizona. Their Research and Evaluation Section under their Accountability Division Evaluates all the schools in Arizona and compiles a list of Highly Performing and Excelling Schools throughout the state.
We call the schools that have achieved the coveted Excelling Schools status the Top Schools in Tucson. We have listed those schools here for your convenience. The Catalina Foothills contains many of these Excelling Schools as does Oro Valley. You may wish to check out our District 16 homes or Homes in Oro Valley pages if schools are important to your family. The School District which covers the Catalina Foothills is District 16, The Catalina Foothills School District. The Catalina Foothills is a very popular area due to it's close proximity to downtown Tucson which makes a very short commute for those who work downtown. The University of Arizona home campus is located here in Tucson and we have an excellent Community Collage called the Pima Community Collage which has campuses all over town.
