Tucson Bike Trails Map | |
|
Tucson Biking Trails come in different flavors. There is the regular "City Street Bike Lane" system, there are a couple of great "City Bike Trails" and then there are many "Tucson Area Mountain Biking Trails".
Tucson City Street Biking Lanes: Most major Tucson City Streets have bike lanes incorporated into the street layout and these lanes are well defined and marked. Here is a Map of Tucson Bike Routes throughout the greater Tucson area. Tucson City Bike Trails:The main bike trails in Tucson (as opposed to bike routes on city streets) run beside the Rillito and Santa Maria rivers. The Rillito Trail is mostly paved and runs from Craycroft to jsut west of I-10. Rillito Trail Detail. The Santa Maria Trail runs along the Santa Maria River and is also mostly paved. Santa Maria Trail Detail Tucson Mountain Biking Trails: There are lots of choices for Mountain Biking in Tucson ranging from beginner to intermediate to extreem difficulty trails. Some popular beginner trails include the Avery Bryce Trail and the Ironwood Trail out on the west side, the North Equestrian Trail in Golder Ranch north of Oro Valley and the Well Road Trail. Some mid range difficulty trails include the Baby Jesus Trail in Goulder Ranch north of Oro Valley and the Gates Pass Trail and Sweet Trail System on the West side. Some of the more difficult and chalanging trails include the Brown Mountain Trail out by the Desert Museum, portions of the Gates Pass Trail and the Yeman Trail near Gates Pass.
